Students will be provided with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe handling and daily carry of firearms and ammunition on their person. Firearm selection, holster selection, caliber effectiveness and selection, live fire malfunction clearing drills, live fire from various positions (kneeling, prone), strong hand only, weak hand only, speed reloading, the use of hard and soft cover, the psychology of survival, the criminal mindset, point shooting, firing while moving, speed rock-close encounter techniques, distraction, post encounter scenarios, and many other subjects will be covered in DH I and DH II.

Students will receive the 144 page Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester Marksmanship Qualification booklet, DFI Course Outline Binder, Student DVD,  and DFI Course Completion Certificate. Required: 150 Rounds, appropriate handgun and holster (no shoulder or cross draw holsters), brimmed hat, weather appropriate clothing, eye and ear protection (available if needed), and at least 2 magazines/speed loaders. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

CCW/LTCF Defensive Handgun II will extend you knowledge to the proper use of lights, secondary edged weapons, and more. It will reinforce and expand upon the skills acquired in the DH I course, and is approximately 90% live fire training. 

Required: 300 Rounds, appropriate handgun and holster (no shoulder or cross draw holsters), brimmed hat, weather appropriate clothing, eye and ear protection (available if needed), and at least 2 magazines/speed loaders. Course Completion Certificate, lunch and refreshments will be provided.
